Analog Devices (ADI) has launched two quad output DC-DC converter modules with an output up to 4.8A in a ball grid array package for telecoms and industrial designs.

The LTM4668 and LTM4668A µModule quad-output DC-DC converter modules integrate the switching controllers, power FETs, inductors and support components in a thermally enhanced package measuring 6.25mm × 6.25mm × 2.1mm. This reduces the need for external capacitors and resistors.

The DC-DC converter modules operate over an input voltage range of 2.7V to 17V with an output voltage range of 0.6V to 5.5V for the LTM4668A and 0.6V to 1.8V for the LTM4668. Each of the four outputs delivers up to 1.2A in parallel.

The devices support frequency synchronization, PolyPhase operation, selectable Burst Mode operation, 100% duty cycle and low IQ operation as well as frequency selection. The high switching frequency and a current mode architecture enable a very fast transient response to line and load changes without reducing the stability, with ±1.5 percent total output voltage regulation.
