II-VI is to acquire Ascatron and INNOViON for a vertically integrated silicon carbide SiC power electronics technology platform
cost of ownership compared to silicon-based devices. It is using its broad engineered materials and optoelectronic device technology platforms, as well as its manufacturing capabilities around the globe, to drive scale as part of its vertical integration strategy. Last year it acquired Finisar for its photonics and compound semiconductor expertise that contributed to the increase in revenue.
