Advanced Battery Concepts signs China deal to develop Bipolar Lead Batteries
The deal with Fengfan will allow batteries that are lighter, cost less, charge faster, and last longer than traditional lead batteries.
Advanced Battery Concepts is the first company to successfully design a bipolar lead acid battery and develop and implement a commercially viable manufacturing process for such batteries. It is currently working with existing lead acid battery producers and engaging licensees for its technology such as Johnson Controls, as well as on-going production of batteries and additional research from its Battery Research & Engineering Development Centre in Michigan to broaden its technology portfolio.
The GreenSeal approach eliminates heavy metal grids and top-level lead connections, so the batteries are significantly lighter. For example, a car starting battery with GreenSeal can weigh 10 to 20 pounds (up to 10kg) less than a typical car battery and also last up to three time longer.
