500W medical AC-DC supply runs at highest altitudes

The TMPC-500-1U ATX AC-DC medical supply measures 220 mm x 100 mm x 40.5 mm and is supplied with input line fuse, overvoltage, overload, and short circuit protections.
Tumbler Technologies has developed a 1U, 500W medically-approved AC-DC power supply that operates at a high altitude of 5,000 meters.

The TMPC-500-1U ATX AC-DC medical supply measures 220 mm x 100 mm x 40.5 mm and is supplied with input line fuse, overvoltage, overload, and short circuit protections. It meets the 3.1 edition of IEC 60601-1 medical safety standards and has a maximum Earth Leakage current of 150 μA at 264 VAC 63Hz, which makes it suitable for areas of patient care. The withstand voltage is 4,000 VAC between input to output (2MOPP) and 1,500 VAC between input to PE (1MOPP).

The AC-DC medical supply is capable of operating at a temperature range between 0°C and +50°C and has DC voltage outputs and maximum loads of +3.3V/20A, +5V/20A, triple +12V/16A (18A peak), -5V/0.2A, -12V/0.5A, and +5Vsb/3A respectively. The maximum overall output is 500W, with +3.3V and +5V providing a combined maximum load of 120W. The combined maximum load for +12V1, +12V2, +12V3 must not exceed 41A.  The only minimum load required is 0.1A for +12V3, opening up application possibilities outside of PC’s or for leaving overhead for future changes.  

The active efficiency of 87% minimum at full load means the AC-DC medical supply qualifies for 80 PLUS Gold energy efficiency and it also complies with ATX12V and EPS 1U 2.0 standards. To further support energy efficiency, the power supply is equipped to meet Intel’s Haswell power requirements. The reliability is over 100,000 hours MTBF at full load at 25°C ambient per MIL-HDBK-217.

The TMPC-500-1U is certified for the latest medical standards, including UL/IEC/EN 60601-1 (Edition 3.1), ANSI/AAMI ES 60601-1 (2012), and CSA C22.2 No. 60601-1 (2014). The power supply complies with IEC/EN 60601-1-2 4th edition medical EMC and immunity standards including EN 55011, CISPR11/FCC, VCCI class B (conducted and radiated emissions), EN 61000-3-3, EN 61000-4-2, EN61000-4-3, EN 61000-4-4, EN 61000-4-5, EN 61000-4-6, EN 61000-4-8, and EN 61000-4-11. The active PFC circuity meets EN 61000-3-2 class D limits for harmonic distortion.
