Meter shunt resistors offer low resistance values for increased accuracy

The WSMS2906 meter shunt resistor produces resistance values from 300 µΩ to 660 µΩ. These values allow for increased accuracy in current meter shunt applications for industrial and consumer single- or multiphase energy meters. With a tolerance of 5.0%, the new resistor provides power companies with more accurate data to determine customer usage and to adjust billing terms. The component features a five-terminal connection design and an all-welded construction that contributes to its superior electrical performance. The resistor offers very low inductance values of < 5 nH and a low thermal EMF of < 3 µV/°C. It is lead (Pb)-free and fully RoHS-compliant.
The WSBS8518 battery shunt resistor produces resistance values of 100 μΩ, 125 μΩ, and 250 μΩ. This provides increased accuracy in battery shunt applications for gas, diesel, hybrid, and electric cars, trucks, and scooters, as well as electric forklifts and other heavy industrial applications. With a tolerance of 5.0%, the new resistor provides more accurate data to determine battery charge and discharge, thus helping designers meet specific customer battery management requirements. The resistor features an all-welded construction that allows operation with continuous currents as high as 600 A. The device offers low inductance values of < 5nH and a low thermal EMF of < 3 μV/°C and is lead (Pb)-free as well as fully RoHS-compliant.
