DIY electronic kits inspired by NASA
The Space O collection comprises five DIY electronics construction model kits providing detailed models of the International Space Station (ISS), the Apollo Lunar Module with Moon Rover, The James Webb Space Telescope, The Solar Orbiter, and the CubeSat NEA Scout. Each kit includes fully-made PCB parts, an instruction manual, an educational book on circuitry, and “a load” of components with dozens or even hundreds of parts.
The kits include a soldering iron, stand, solder, filing tool, tweezers, pliers, soldering iron cleaner, protective glasses, and a magnifying lens.
“We’ve spent months pouring over thousands of blueprints and official documents to make these models as detailed and true-to-life as possible,” says the company. “It’s been no small feat, but we think these little details are worth doing.”
Key features of the kits include:
- The ISS kit is offered as the biggest product that the Geek Club has ever made. It includes solar panels that will actually power the kit, and features a flexible PCB.
- The Apollo Lunar Module with Moon Rover kit comes with a buildable Moon Rover, complete with a motor for driving.
- The James Webb Space Telescope kit includes a gold-plated PCB.
- The CubeSat NEA Scout features a gold-plated PCB and includes solar panels.
Current Early Bird pricing on the kits is $39 (CubeSat NEA Scout), $49 (Apollo 11 Lunar Module with Moon Rover), $59 (James Webb Space Telescope), $69 (Solar Orbiter), and $139 (ISS). The Early Bird Whole Kit of Space Models is available for $320.
